The Warrior 2004

Collaboration with San Francisco based troupe La Pocha Nostra, this performance was part installation, part endurance piece. 'The Living Museum of Fetishised Identities' was a 3 hour performance with 13 performers exhibiting themselves in small dioramas. As the audience moved through the space, the identities in the museum slowly came to life. senVoodoo’s diorama represented a military field hospital with Day of the Dead undertakers preparing a body. After being washed down, the body was reincarnated with decorated needles, hooks, bells, arrows and bodypaint, an intricate process which took around an hour and a half. The warrior was then released into the rest of the performance, where he interacted with other performers and the audience. For the finale he was stripped of his decorations, bled, and wrapped in a shroud.
