Arterial

Arterial is a performance about loss and mourning that uses the primal medium of blood. The shrouded figures at once represent humanity and dehumanisation: in their veiled anonymity, are they protected or repressed? Are the hands pleading or offering? Is the white to be read as mourning or purity? Arterial is recontextualized with each new siting. It was performed live in Poland in 2006, and in Australia in 2008. Version II, a 3 screen video installation with the bloodpath from the live performances, has been shown in Sydney, Beijing and Łódź. Arterial was initiated through the residency program at Performance Space, Sydney.
